OVERVIEW
This trip is very popular for the opportunity to interact with the natives who still keep their culture alive; on this trip you can learn about its traditions, customs and native tissues.
Amantaní is the island of dreams and charm, located 38 km. away within the Lake Titicaca, at an altitude of3817 meters near the peninsula Capachica and Chucuito. Here are two ceremonial centers called Pachatata (Coanos) and Pachamama (Llacastiti), from where you can see all the beautiful panorama of the lake and the spectacular sunset.
- DAY 01: Puno - Uros Islands - AMATANI
- Day 02: Taquile Island - Puno RETURN
ITINERARY
Day 01 Puno - Uros Islands - AMATANI
07: 45 am. Transfer from hotel in Puno and transfer to the port.
08: 15 am. Departure from port in the direction of the floating islands of Uros where we visit two islands.
09: 30 am. Our journey continues to the island of Amantani, this takes approx. 3 hours.
12: 30 am. Arrival to the island of Amantani, villagers welcome us and lead us to family homes to get comfortable, take a break and then have a family lunch.
16: 00 pm. Hike to the top of the island to visit the Pachatata and Pachamana temples located at 4038 m.
17: 50 pm. Return to family homes to enjoy a family dinner.
20: 00 pm. Villagers offer us a folkloric show (optional).
Day 02 Taquile Island - Puno RETURN
8: 00 am. After breakfast, we board our boat to head to the island of Taquile. The journey takes about 1hour.
9: 00 am. Arrival to Taquile, we will hike 30 min. We receive families and we offer crafts, delight us with their dance and music.
11: 30 am. Lunch (optional).
12: 30 am. Walk to the square and free time.
1: 30 pm. Return to the port of Taquile to take the road to Puno. Travel time 2 hours 30 min.
3: 20 pm Arrival in Port Puno and transfer to your hotel.
