OVERVIEW
The beautiful Salar de Uyuni is with its 10.582 square km (4.085 square miles) the world's largest salt flat. It is located in the Department of Potosi in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes, at 3.650 meters above sea level.
The Salar de Uyuni or “salt flats” is a one of the highlights of a trip to Bolivia and shouldn’t be missed as it is a unique place in the world. The terrain in this area and the desert areas beyond, is harsh and conditions are basic so you should not expect a lot of comfort but the rewards are well worth it.

ITINERARY
Day 01 TOURIST BUS LA PAZ - UYUNI
At 20:00 hours. Pick of Hotels / Hostels in the city of La Paz and transfer to the bus station to take the bus to Uyuni.
Departure 21:00 Hrs shared bus La Paz - Uyuni. (Travel time is 11 hours)
Day 02 EXPEDITION UYUNI – SALT FLATS – FISH ISLAND- SAN JUAN
At 7:00 a.m. hours. Arrival in Uyuni and transfer to our office and free time until the start time of the tour.
11 a.m.. Check out our tour to the biggest salt desert in vehicle (Land Cruiser - 4x4). On the way visit the following attractions.
Cemetery of trains there can be observed very old trains and locomotives in 1899, most trains ran wagons loaded with minerals but this tough little time, these trains were part of an industrial past, today now transformed into a tourist destination.
The population of Colchani Located on the shores of the Great Salt Lake, is the largest salt desert, where we observe the activity of extracting salt craft income. The residents will teach us the process of drying, grinding and bagging ready for consumption.
Salt Hotel Located in the heart of the great Salt Flats, built with blocks of salt, both externally and internally and their walls, floors, beds, tables and chairs, all made of salt.
Incahuasi Island (Fish Island) .- Located in the middle of the desert salt Incahuasi island known as "La Isla del Pescado" populated by numerous giant cacti above 10 meters height from the top you can see the wonderful landscape of the Salar, subsequent to our visit we will have lunch and in the afternoon continue the journey to the City of San Juan where we stay at Family homes.
NOTE: There is no guide on the expedition, only the driver will give the necessary information in Spanish, as most of it is looking at landscapes and these are pretty self-explanatory.
Day 03 SAN JUAN - LAGOONS – RED LAGOON
After breakfast we continue our adventure to Laguna Colorada in'll watch from a lookout Ollague active volcano, Cañapa, Hedionda, Honda Chiarcota and gaps, these gaps are populated by flamingos, at noon we stop at the way to have lunch and in the afternoon we continue our journey passing Siloli desert where we see an interesting rock formation known as the Stone Tree, then we arrive at Laguna Colorada located in the National Park Fauna Andina Eduardo Abaroa. Spend the night.
Day 04 RED & GREEN LAGOON– UYUNI – LA PAZ
This day will leave early for our tour (05:00 am). To appreciate the Geysers - fumaroles (volcanic area), better known as "Morning Sun" then continue to the hot springs - Polques, there will have breakfast and then continue to the Lagoons "White and Green" located at the foot of the volcano Llicancabur, at an altitude of 4,350 meters, the green color is due to the high content of magnesium that have the geological formations of the area, after our visit to the lakes return to Uyuni in the way we stop to have lunch and continue our trip, arriving in Uyuni around 6:30 p.m.. This night at 8:00 p.m. hours. Return by bus Uyuni - La Paz.
Day 05 ARRIVAL TO THE CITY OF LA PAZ
At 07:00 AM. Arrival to the bus station.

NOTES
Bring warm clothes, sleeping bag, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, gloves, hat, rain poncho during the rainy season, flashlight, toiletries bag.
IMPORTANT: The general standard of facilities and services are not very high in this remote area. We would like to make it clear that things are not as reliable, comfortable and professional as we would like on these tours so for this reason we do not promise more than what you will receive for your money. The accommodations & food will be basic, the driver acts as a basic guide but he is unlikely to speak any English, or if he does it won’t be a good level. Due to the harshness of the terrain vehicle breakdowns are common.
RENT: In our office you can also rent the sleeping bag.
